Two WHS Officers will be engaged to cover:
- Day Shift and Night Shift
You will take ownership of site safety, ensuring all works are executed in line with the Project Safety Management Plan and legislative requirements. This is not a desk role; you’ll be embedded in operations, actively supervising and driving safe outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce site safety compliance
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations
- Support safe execution of shutdown works under tight timeframes
- Ensure adherence to the relevant Work Health and Safety Act and associated regulations
- Engage directly with supervisors, contractors and project teams
You are a practical, boots-on-the-ground safety professional who knows how to operate in complex, high-risk environments.
You will bring:
- Proven experience on marine, port, wharf, or similar infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of hazards including:
- Working over water
- Vessel movements
- Crane and lifting operations
- Diving works (desirable)
- Tidal conditions and structural risks
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts in a fast-paced shutdown environment
- Min. Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Current MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card)
- Availability for the full shutdown period
