Senior Health and Safety Advisor

This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on real-world safety outcomes, not office-based reporting.
The Opportunity
You will act as the key senior safety advisor across a broad region from Geelong to the South Australian border, supporting operational emergency response teams, volunteers, and corporate stakeholders.
The role is about presence, influence, and practical delivery, building safety capability in the field and improving how work is actually done.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear, practical WHS advice to leaders and operational teams
- Support incident investigations and corrective actions
- Conduct site visits, audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple locations
- Work with frontline teams to improve safety culture and behaviours
- Coach leaders to lift capability and accountability
- Support the implementation of safety systems and initiatives
- Identify trends and drive continuous improvement across the region
- Ensure adherence with WHS legislation and internal frameworks
You are a practical, grounded safety professional who is confident working in operational environments.
You will bring:
- Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or Senior Advisor role
- Strong knowledge of Victorian WHS legislation and risk management
- Diploma in WHS (minimum) and ICAM or similar investigation training
- Proven incident investigation and hazard management capability
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- A straightforward, solutions-focused approach
