National RTW Coordinator

This established and growing organisation has an opportunity for a National Return to Work Coordinator to join their dynamic team

About the Role:

This role is responsible for leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the Return to Work strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company. Provide effective and responsive advice and service to all locations across Australia and New Zealand in relation to Incident Reporting, Early Intervention, Workers Compensation, claims management and Return to Work and Wellbeing programs.

Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • Work with the WHS and Operations teams to develop early intervention strategies and provide hands-on management of physical and psychological injuries and Work Cover claims
  • Continually improve on the Workers Compensation and Injury Management policy and procedures including injury/illness treatment, rehabilitation, retraining, and claims management
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and training to ensure managers meet their workers compensation and injury management obligations
  • Ensure prompt notification and escalation of incidents, report on existing cases, coordinate the return to work information for meetings and reports as required
  • Development of Return to Work Plans and the maintenance of a Suitable Duties and non-work related injuries/illness registers
  • Establish and maintain external relationships including; Workers Compensations Insurers, General Practitioners, specialists medical consultants, rehabilitation providers and allied health providers
  • Liaise closely with finance / payroll teams 
  • Provide Monthly reporting on risk profile, statistical information for incident reporting and workers compensation claims
  • Development and implementation of a care program
Essential Skills:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a National Claims / Injury Management position
  • Systems and MS office understanding
  • Strong understanding of human factors, ergonomics and wellbeing
  • Cross jurisdictional Return to Work certification with proven understanding of workers compensation legislation across Australian states and New Zealand 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders 
  • Good time management skills and an organised pro-active approach to meeting objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
