This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HSW professional to partner with leaders, influence organisational culture and make a meaningful impact in a public sector environment.

About the role Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, you will work closely with leaders, teams and key stakeholders to embed a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture across the organisation.

You will provide expert advice, identify emerging risks and support the design and implementation of practical controls, policies and wellbeing initiatives.

Key responsibilities
  • Partner with leaders and stakeholders to identify, assess and manage health, safety and wellbeing risks
  • Provide specialist advice, coaching and support on OHS legislation, compliance and best practice
  • Develop and review HSW policies, procedures, guidance materials and training programs
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the health, safety and wellbeing management system
  • Support injury prevention, workers compensation and rehabilitation processes, including insurer liaison
  • Monitor and report on performance against statutory and organisational requirements
  • Promote and role-model a strong, safety-first and inclusive workplace culture
About you
You will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience in a health, safety and wellbeing role within a medium to large organisation
  • Strong working knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation, HSW management systems and relevant standards
  • Experience developing and implementing safety and wellbeing initiatives, including psychosocial hazard identification, risk assessment and control measures
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills
  • A practical, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
