Senior Psychosocial Safety Advisor
Lead psychosocial safety, risk controls and cultural uplift across a critical Victorian emergency service.
- VPS 5.2 | 2-year fixed term | VHO-based with statewide impact
- Lead psychosocial risk management, controls, insights and improvement
- Influence senior leaders across a complex volunteer-based emergency service
Our client is a major Victorian emergency service with a clear purpose: supporting safer communities through preparedness, response and resilience.
They are now seeking an experienced Senior Psychosocial Safety Advisor to strengthen psychological health and safety across a complex, high-impact workforce of employees and volunteers.
This is a specialist leadership role where you will lead psychosocial hazard identification, risk assessment, control design and organisational reporting. You will work closely with senior leaders across Health & Safety, People & Culture and Wellbeing Services to embed psychosocial risk management into the broader Health and Safety Management System.
This is not a tick-box wellbeing role. It needs someone who understands risk, systems, legislation, consultation and evidence-based controls.
You will:
- Lead the psychosocial safety improvement program.
- Design tools, guidance and training for leaders and HSRs.
- Analyse incident data, workforce trends and survey results.
- Support trauma-informed psychosocial incident investigations.
- Develop practical controls aligned to Victorian OHS expectations.
- Provide trusted advice to senior managers, project teams and committees.
- Influence change across a geographically dispersed, volunteer-based organisation.
You will bring qualifications in psychology, behavioural science, OHS, allied health or a related field, along with demonstrated experience managing psychosocial hazards in a complex or multi-site environment.
Experience with psychosocial risk frameworks, higher-order controls, incident investigation, workforce data analysis, training delivery and change management will be highly regarded.
This role will suit a credible, practical and resilient professional who can move between strategy, systems and real-world operational complexity without needing a map, compass and rescue flare.
